What happens if the accommodation rejects my bicycle or there is no one to receive it?

In all our instructions, we clearly specify that pilgrims are required to inform their accommodation that one or more bicycles will be arriving in their name. This point is very important because the hotel may refuse to accept the bicycle delivery for multiple reasons. The most common ones are:

  • The customer did not inform the hotel (the most frequent case).
  • There is no reservation matching the bicycle reservation (very common).
  • The customer was informed that there was no available space.
  • There is no reception staff (very common on Airbnb, Studios or Apartaments), and remote access is not possible to deliver bikes.
  • It is also not possible to schedule a delivery for a specific day and time.

If any of these situations occur, please remember that a second delivery attempt is not possible. So, what is the procedure? If it is a large city with an MRW transport company delivery point, you will need to pick up the bicycles at their main office. In smaller towns, this option is usually not available. You must notify us via WhatsApp (+34660315173), and we will provide you with the address in the city (if MRW is available) as well as their business hours. It is very important to be aware that bicycles cannot be picked up outside the transport company's working hours, as MRW is not part of Cycling the Camino—it is simply a partner company with its own regulations.

Naturally, MRW offices are closed on weekends and both national and local holidays, so it is crucial to follow the instructions and notify the accommodation to avoid unpleasant surprises, which, unfortunately, we would not be able to resolve until the next business day. We kindly ask you to take special care if you plan to start on a Saturday, Sunday, Monday, or a local holiday to avoid any issues.
