Are you having trouble with the payment gateway?
12/03/2025All reservation processes are carried out through the website, which, once completed, directs the pilgrim either to the registration area—where they can hold the reservation for up to 5 days before it expires if not paid—or to the payment gateway. This payment gateway belongs to our bank (BBVA). It is important to remember that the payment gateway does not belong to Cycling the Camino; it is managed by the Spanish bank BBVA. Therefore, any payment attempt errors are due to incorrect data entry, credit limit issues, an invalid card, or using a card from a country different from its country of origin. The bank's payment gateway returns various ERROR codes that may help identify the issue. The most common ones are:
- 9063 Invalid card number
- 101/9071 Expired card
- 106 Too many incorrect PIN attempts
- 129 Incorrect CVV
- 9078 Operation type not allowed for this card
- 9118 Total amount exceeded
- 9280/9281/9282/9283 Security control block
- 9290/9291/9292/9293 Security control block
- SIS9915 Payment canceled at the user's request
- SIS0334 Security control block
Among these, the most common errors are an Incorrect Card Number (9063) and the Security Control Block (SIS0334). The latter is a frequent error in payment attempts from the USA and Canada due to differences in security protocols between payment gateways and cards across continents. This is not a major issue, but users should contact their financial institution to resolve it.
It is important to note that the payment gateway used by Cycling the Camino belongs to BBVA, not our company. Therefore, any payment issues are unrelated to our website, which merely redirects users to the bank's secure gateway. These security protocols ensure that all payments are 100% safe.
Only one attempt per link
If a payment error occurs, we will be notified immediately, and we will be able to reactivate the account from our system for another attempt. In this case, a new link will be sent to the user's email, allowing them to try again. However, please note that only one attempt is possible per link. That said, we can send as many new links as needed, but each link will only allow for one attempt.
If you encounter any issues during the payment process, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are here to help.
